Dr. Stephanie Corn, an experienced board-certified Pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, has been practicing general pediatrics for over 35 years.
She has been privileged to serve countless infants, children, adolescents and their families in both private practice and various hospital settings, including caring for children requiring in-patient rehabilitation due to life-threatening accidents, brain injury and general recuperation from debilitating illness. These experiences have moved her over the years to develop an interest in the management of children with special needs, including those with complex medical diagnoses, behavioral health issues and most recently, Autism Spectrum Disorder
Dr. Corn completed her undergraduate degree, Summa Cum Laude, in Psychology, her medical degree at the Lewis School of Medicine, both at Temple University, and completed her pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, all in Philadelphia, PA. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She spent a large part of her medical career in the metro-Atlanta area, having been a founding member of two private practices there, as well as practicing part-time Hospitalist Medicine at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for over 20 years before relocating with her family to the Shenandoah Valley in 2016; in 2019 Dr. Corn joined Whole Child Pediatrics doing general out-patient pediatric medicine.

Dr. Corn’s Bio
Dr. Corn has served on several hospital committees and community boards over the course of her career, including four years as chairperson of the Pediatric Department in a metro-Atlanta community hospital, and has as done extensive teaching, including lecturing at the Emory University Pediatric Advanced Practitioner program for over a dozen years. Her interest in complex care led to her serving on the Board of Directors for The Foundation for Medically Fragile Children in Atlanta, as well as Enotah CASA, a court appointed special advocate program in north Georgia, aiding victims of child-neglect and abuse. Dr. Corn also served as Chair of the North Georgia Medical Society for several years before relocating to Virginia.
In her spare time, Dr. Corn enjoys hiking with her husband (a psychologist) and beloved dog, Evie; kayaking; cooking; reading; traveling and the fine arts.
Responding to this rise in Autism diagnoses, in the early 2000s the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) began a campaign to encourage general pediatricians to incorporate autism evaluations into their every-day practice. This has led to a number of developmental programs to create training modules for this very purpose.
Thus, moved by the dire need for more timely, comprehensive evaluations so that young children can get the care and therapies they need early in their development, in the spring of 2024Dr. Corn completed the “STAT” training course through the Vanderbilt TRIAD program, certifying her to perform virtual autism evaluations on 18-47 month-old toddlers and pre-schoolers via a protocol called, “Tele-ASD-Peds or, TAP”
This training has changed the direction of Dr. Corn’s career, as she is now endeavoring to focus her professional time on addressing the needs of young children with autism. As such, she is partnering with Whole Child Pediatrics to perform virtual autism evaluations via the Tele-ASD-Peds or, TAP platform.
